About Us
HamiChhau was founded by a group of passionate Nepalese advocates who recognized the urgent need for culturally competent support services for survivors facing language barriers, legal challenges, and societal stigma. Many victims within our community remain silent due to fear of dishonor, immigration concerns, or financial dependence on their abusers. We saw the gap and stepped up to break the silence—ensuring that no survivor is left without help.

Our Mission
The purpose of this organization is to address the cultural and religious stigmas surrounding divorce, which often lead to harmful consequences for individuals. In many societies, divorce is a taboo subject, and people may resort to harmful actions rather than seeking a divorce. Our mission is to raise awareness about the importance of divorce as a viable option, support victims of domestic violence in safely exiting their marriages, and assist divorcees in transitioning back into society. We recognize that broken marriages can significantly impact mental health, and we aim to provide comprehensive support, including counseling, food, shelter, clothing, and childcare. Our organization is dedicated to empowering victims and educating society about the realities and necessities of divorce. To achieve these goals, we seek to form a nonprofit organization to secure donations that will fund our initiatives.
